Within 24-48 hours, you’ll receive pre-filled Bottle Identification Sheets via email.

Who can enter?

Aunties, Uncles, Ladies, Gents, Poppies & Boets! If you brew at home and don’t sell your beer commercially, you’re in!

The competition is open to all non-commercial homebrewers, no matter your age, background, or experience level.

Entry Requirements & Drop-off Instructions

This year, each club will be given Phoenix Hops from Charles Faram fresh from United Kingdom and distributed by Cactus Craft. Brew the best beer with this hop (with Phoenix being the star of the show) and get voted the People’s Favourite. All voting takes place on the Fools and Fans app!

Entry Requirements

Bottle Specifications

All entries must be submitted in 4 x 440ml brown craft bottles.

Bottle Labels

  • Use a self-adhesive address label (75mm x 38mm) on each bottle.
  • Clearly mark:
    • Entry number in the top left corner.
    • BJCP style and sub-style category number in the top right corner.
  • For fruit beers, ciders, and specialty entries, list any unique ingredients on the label (see example photos).

Crown Cap Marking

Repeat the entry number on the crown cap of each bottle.

Bundling

  • Secure the 4 bottles together using elastic bands or similar easy-to-remove material (avoid adhesive tape).
  • Attach a removable A4 Bottle Identification Form to the bundle.
